CRYSTAL RIVER (FLBaptist)—A one-day regional conference where students in grades 6-12 will be encouraged and equipped as servant leaders in their student ministries will be offered Feb. 8 at First Baptist Church in Crystal River.

The Student Leadership Conference will feature keynote speaker Jason McLeod, who played the roles of team captain Brock Kelley in “Facing The Giants” and rookie firefighter Eric Harmon in “Fireproof.” Worship band I-60 will lead praise music.

The conference will be “packed with worship, fun and practical workshops, led by experienced ministry leaders,” said John Potts, conference organizer and youth pastor at the Crystal River church. “The student leadership conference will provide a springboard to transform and impact a student’s community.”

This is the second annual conference and is jointly sponsored by the church and the Florida Baptist Convention’s student ministries.

More than a dozen workshops will focus on topics including developing praise bands, student leadership, growing closer to God, helping a friend in crisis, for guys and girls only and helping people in crisis.

The meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. and concludes at 2:30 p.m. Cost to attend is $5 per person in advance by Jan 28 and $10 at the door. For more information, contact First Baptist Crystal River at 352-795-3367 or pastorjohn@firstbaptistcr.org.
