BLACK CREEK

First Baptist Church of Maxville in Jacksonville will mark its 100th anniversary in homecoming services Oct. 7 at 10:30 a.m. Former pastors Richard Fish and Bill Turner will speak, and The Gibbs Family will sing in the 11 a.m. service. Joe Butler, director of missions of the Black Creek Baptist Association, will present a centennial certificate from the Florida Baptist Historical Society. Dinner on the grounds will be served. EMERALD COAST

First Baptist Church in Fort Walton Beach will honor Pastor Howard L. Gates October 14, his 25th anniversary with the church. He moved to Fort Walton Beach in 1987 after serving as pastor of four churches in his native Texas. He has served on several Southern Baptist and Florida Baptist committees, and on the Board of Trustees of Baptist College of Florida. Gates also has served on the Florida Baptist Witness Board of Directors, and has written Sunday School lesson com­mentaries for the Witness. He and his wife, Janelle, have two adult children. First Baptist Church in Mary Esther will celebrate its 53rd homecoming Oct. 21 beginning at 9:30 a.m. Lunch will follow the service. GREATER ORLANDO

First Baptist Church in Kissimmee has called Jeff Lehman as pastor of education/discipleship. He most recently served with Trinity Baptist Church in Keystone Heights. Lehman grew up at First Baptist Kissimmee and served as a youth intern there while a student at Florida State University in Tallahassee. He is also a graduate of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky. He and his wife, Tessa, have three children. First Baptist Church of Pine Castle in Orlando will celebrate its 125th anniversary October 7 at 10:15 a.m. Dinner on the grounds will follow the service. For more information, call 407-855-4741.

Yulee Baptist Church has called Mark Barnes as executive pastor/minister of music and worship. He previously served in a similar position with Government Street Baptist Church in Mobile, Ala., and with Ridgewood Baptist Church in Orange Park. Barnes is a graduate of University of Mobile, and served 10 years with the U.S. Air Force. He and his wife, Melissa, have three adult children.
