Representatives from The Baptist College of Florida rekindled friendships and met prospective students at the 2015 Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting in Columbus, Ohio.
In addition to inspirational messages, times of prayer, praise and worship, and the business and reports received during the June 16-17 annual meeting, some of the most entertaining discussions revolved around BCF eagle mascot “Izzy” and the fun beach decorations from Graceville, Fla.
Alumni and friends who visited the BCF “Florida Theme” exhibit booth are serving in areas of ministry and leadership all over the world. Friendships were renewed, ministry challenges were shared, and copies of the president’s 25th-anniversary edition of the quarterly magazine “Echoes” were circulated.
“During this meeting of the SBC, we had some of the best visits and conversations with alumni and friends that I have ever experienced,” BCF President Thomas A. Kinchen said. According to Kinchen, one of the great joys of being the longest-tenured president for The Baptist College of Florida is the opportunity to visit with multiple generations of faithful servants.
Kinchen was able to share with alumni and friends the tremendous progress on his 20/20 vision for the campus, which is currently ahead of schedule. Graduates from 1969 to 2014 were eager to hear more about the two master's degrees offered through the college and inquired about the health of former faculty members they admired. The hot-off-the-press BCF 2015-16 academic catalogs and informational viewbooks were distributed at the exhibit booth, highlighting all 23 degree programs available on the Graceville campus, at the distance sites and online.
Invitations to visit the BCF campus were offered to guests as they were picking up brochures at the exhibit booth. Additional material about campus housing and student life can be obtained by calling 800-328-2660, ext. 460 or going online to baptistcollege.edu.
