Mike Hasha, director of missions for the Ridge Baptist Association in Winter Haven, recently announced that he has accepted a position at Calvary Church in Clearwater.
Hasha, who’s been the director of missions at Ridge for more than 11 years, said his roles at Calvary will include pastoral care and evangelism, and he will also serve as liaison to senior adults.
Excited about where’s he’s headed and what God has in store for him in Clearwater, Hasha said there was nothing going on at Ridge that made him look for another opportunity.
“But just because things are going great doesn’t mean that’s where God wants you to stay,” he said. “You still continue to search the heart of God for what He wants.”
After Willy Rice, senior pastor of Calvary Clearwater, reached out to Hasha at the end of March, Hasha took some time to pray about the opportunity. He said he began to feel like it was God’s leading.
Hasha said pastoral care and evangelism are “in his wheelhouse,” and he is excited to see how God will use his gifts at Calvary, particularly with the church’s X150 Vision, which includes planting 150 churches in the next 10 years.
“I’m glad that the Lord’s letting me be a part of it,” he said.
Hasha hopes Father’s Day will be his first day on the job.
