PENSACOLA (FBW)—A high ranking Naval officer confirmed Naval Air Station Pensacola is on the U.S. military’s list of bases which have cut off access to the Southern Baptist Convention’s website SBC.Net.

Ted Traylor, pastor of the Olive Baptist Church in Pensacola, told Florida Baptist Witness he learned the military has blocked access to the SBC website from a civilian employee working at Eglin Air Force Base who is a member of the church.

LONDON (FBW)-Even as many Americans bow their heads in prayer after Tuesday’s terrorist attack at the Boston Marathon, a Florida Baptist is preparing to lead in prayer Wednesday at the funeral of Britain’s Margaret Thatcher, the former Prime Minister, who died last week at age 87.

The funeral comes two days after two bomb blasts at the finish line of the Boston Marathon killed three and wounded 144 on Patriots Day, a holiday commemorating the American Revolution. Security plans for the funeral in London were being reviewed, as well as plans for the London Marathon on Sunday, according to news reports.

Gov. Rick Scott presented the state’s award to the former University of Florida quarterback April 12 at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, just before the start of Tebow’s charity golf tournament.
