In a meditative moment, I began to reflect on some recent venues of spiritual value outside my normal patterns of life.

I have attended many times in past years, however, as I took the time to walk through the exhibit area, it dawned on me the many ministries and helps that are now available to preachers and churches. Florida Baptists are the finest people on planet Earth. We are grateful to be part of this great Convention. May the good things of grace continue in your lives.

My mind has tried to wrap itself around giving. Now that’s not abnormal. There is rarely a day of my life that I do not think about giving—personal or corporate. Here are some thoughts my mind has completed lately.

So often I speak of the “givens” of life that shape us for what God calls us to do. There is no question growing up in the coal camps in the mountains of West Virginia helped shape my life. I still love the mountains and have wonderful warm memories of home, apple pie and baseball!
