CLEARWATER (FBW) - When 97 percent of the adults involved in Sunday School at Calvary Baptist Church in Clearwater showed up for G.R.O.W. training in August, Pastor Jerry Tidwell said he was "completely overwhelmed" at the response.

I was a human sign the other day when President Bush came to New Orleans. As a volunteer, I was "assigned" to stand in front of the venerable Fairmont Hotel and direct the guests as they arrived. "The luncheon is on the second floor. If you are having your picture made with the president, that's at the far end of the first floor." I must have said that 200 times. It turns out I was wrong.

FT. MEADE (FBC)-After four weeks of prayerwalking around a Fort Meade neighborhood, Ed Kendrick knocked on a door to give a Gospel presentation. Within minutes the husband and wife living there prayed to accept Christ as their personal Savior.

CP equips church planter with educational, financial resources

WINTER HAVEN (FBC)-As a Nehemiah Project Church Planter in Winter Haven, Ed Kendrick has discovered the value of Southern Baptists working together through the Cooperative Program. When he discovered that God was leading him to plant a church, the young man took courses at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, focusing on the practical and theological aspects of starting a new church. The Cooperative Program subsidized the cost of his education and specialized training.
