Wicker to be nominated FBSC president

PENSACOLA (FBW) – Florida Baptist Witness has learned Hayes Wicker, pastor of First Baptist Church of Naples, will be nominated president of the Florida Baptist State Convention next week during the 143rd annual meeting in Jacksonville. Ted Traylor, pastor of Olive Baptist Church, Pensacola, will nominate Wicker, Traylor confirmed to the Witness Oct. 27.

SEBTS trustees hear audit report

(BP)—Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary trustees, meeting in conjunction with the inauguration of the school’s sixth president, heard a positive report from an independent auditing firm about the “high degree of integrity” with which Southeastern handles its budget and finances.
